Reverse Beacon Network Beta Testing Separate Spot Stream for FT8

CAMSAT Offers More Details on New Satellites, One Carrying HF Transponders

CAMSAT, China’s Amateur Radio Satellite organization, has offered additional details about the three Amateur Radio satellites it plans to launch later this year. Two of the satellites, designated CAS-5A and CAS-6, will carry transponders, and one of them will offer HF capability. Iranian Radars Showing Up on 10 Meters

Selection of Schools/Groups to Host Contacts with Space Station Narrowed to Seven

Former Japan Amateur Radio League President Shozo Hara, JA1AN, SK

Past Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL) President Shozo Hara, JA1AN, died on June 9. He was 91.

A native of Nagasaki prefecture, he graduated from Waseda University in 1954 with a degree in electrical engineering and joined Eastern Japan Heavy Industries (now Mitsubishi Heavy Industries). Tad Cook, K7RA, Seattle, reports: Sunspots vanished again after appearing on every day, from May 21 through June 4. Average daily sunspot numbers for the May 31 through June 6 reporting week dropped from 26.3 to 12.9.

Average daily solar flux declined from 74.9 to 73.2. Average planetary A index increased from 3.9 to 11.7 while average mid-latitude A index increased from 4.7 to 10.4.

The “AMSAT North America” group that has existed for over a decade no longer serves as the official Facebook group of AMSAT. Please join us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/AMSATNA/

AMSAT has petitioned Facebook to remove the logo and name from the “AMSAT North America” group’s pages in accordance with Facebook’s Intellectual Property Policy.

AMSAT officers and board members will no longer hold any role in the group. Facebook’s policy is the creator of the group, owns the group resources.
